Hi, I’m Alyssa, and I’m so happy you’re here!
I’m the hands, heart, and sometimes fizzing jars behind Fermented Recipes, a blog where I share easy, time-tested fermented recipes made with love and purpose.

Let me tell you how it all started.

Years ago, I struggled with constant bloating, low energy, and just not feeling “right.” I tried everything—diets, supplements, tests—but nothing seemed to help. One day, I stumbled on an article about gut health and the importance of the microbiome. That was the moment everything changed.

Curious and hopeful, I made my very first jar of sauerkraut. It wasn’t perfect, but it was alive—and it made me feel alive too. From there, I started adding more fermented foods to my life: kombucha, kefir, kimchi, sourdough. Slowly but surely, my body began to heal. And I fell in love with the process.

Today, after more than 10 years of fermenting, I’m here to share what I’ve learned — the easy way.

Fermentation isn’t new. It’s been used by generations of grandmothers, farmers, and food lovers across the world to preserve food and nourish the body. My goal is to keep that tradition going — and make it simple enough for anyone to try at home.
